Our client in Edmonton Alberta is actively seeking to a fill a Permanent position as a Systems Administrator.
Job Details:
Our customer is currently seeking a technical expert (Systems Administrator) looking to leverage their skills in a larger, more strategic business role. You must have strong technical skills, a track record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, and insight into and sound judgment around business issues. The responsibilities include server and network support and design as well as system and peripheral 'break-fix' from our M2.0 NOC.
Platforms supported include: Microsoft based PC platforms (Win 2000 Pro, XP Pro); Microsoft compatible Server platforms and services (2000, 2003, 2008 Server; MS Exchange, SQL, BES, Backup Software) Maintain strong focus on delivery of premier customer service to client base
Successful applicant will be expected to:
- Provide technical support to all technicians and assist with the design of WAN/LAN based solutions.
- Collect and analyze data to identify issues quickly and develop cost effective solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems while providing remote and onsite support to clients.
- Communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with clients and staff.
- Research new technologies and help set the strategic direction for new service offerings.
- Document work to maximize efficiency and effectiveness and to the institutionalize knowledge.
- Maintain strong focus on delivery of premier customer service to client base.
- Have the ability to quickly analyze a situation, and, determine the best course of action to bring about resolution.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years relevant IT experience.
- Demonstrated senior expertise in Microsoft operating systems and productivity applications, - Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory, routing and switching technologies, firewall technologies, data backup systems, virus protection/security systems, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.
- Proficient with standard Office Suite of Applications.
- The ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with creativity, speed and efficiency.
- Exceptional interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt to and quickly learn new technologies and products.
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, challenging environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must possess your own vehicle, valid driver’s license and appropriate business-class insurance.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline preferred.
- Microsoft MCSE and MCSA (either in progress or completed).
- A+ Certification (preferred).
Additional Consideration Will Be Given to the Following:
- SQL or Exchange experience or certification.
- Thin client experience or certification with either Terminal Server or Citrix.
- Novell, Linux, UNIX or Macintosh experience or certification.
- Additional Vendor certifications (Veritas, HP, Compaq, Lexmark, etc).
- Citrix Experience or Certifications.
- Cisco experience or certification.
- Telephony experience including PBX and/or VOIP.
- Laser Printer, Dot-Matrix Printer, Multi-Function Printer break/fix support.
