Manager Municipal Design - Burlington
Overview:
Our client's Infrastructure Division provides planning, design and construction administration services for highway, municipal, road, bridge, rail and transit projects. We are currently seeking a Manager to lead our Municipal Design Group in the Burlington Office. This key individual will be responsible for providing leadership to the Burlington Municipal Design group, for developing and securing consulting assignments, for building and managing a team of design professionals engaged in municipal road, water and waste water studies and projects, and for overseeing the completion of design projects for public and private-sector clients. Due to expanding business opportunities in southern Ontario and elsewhere within the company, this position offers the successful candidate significant growth potential.
Responsibilities:
" Providing leadership to the Municipal Design group
" Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and identifying consulting opportunities primarily in the municipal area
" Preparing proposals to secure municipal projects and studies
" Providing direction to engineering staff in the preparation of designs, design drawings, contract documents, engineering specifications and cost estimates for road and highway engineering work
" Preparing and managing project and department budgets
" Assisting the Infrastructure Manager with the preparation of strategic and operating plans for the Municipal Design Group
Qualifications:
" Civil Engineer with accreditation from recognized university;
" PEO designation
" Minimum 10 years experience in the design and / or construction administration of municipal works either with a municipality or with a consulting firm
" Highly motivated with strong commitment to team work
" Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and manage the work of specialists in other offices or companies
" Strong oral and written communication skills
