| Job Title: Discipline Lead - Project Controls |

Our client's Vancouver office is looking for a Discipline Lead, Project Controls.
This is an exciting and challenging role that is responsible for the overall delivery of Project Controls including Estimating, Cost Engineering, Planning and Scheduling on the project. The Project Controls Discipline Lead assures that our client's procedures and best practices are applied to the project as appropriate and recommends changes where required.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Ensuring that the project controls group has adequate staff and resources to effectively deliver the project controls function to the projects.
- Establishment and distribution of baseline information for schedule, cost and resource management including the client resources.
- Obtains approval from the Global Practice Director for the implementation of procedures and work processes which do not conform to the client's standards.
- Preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports to the client, the project team and the client's corporate requirements.
- Provides support to the Project Manager the administration of the client's client contract.
- Reports to and receives operational direction from the Project Manager.
- Responsible for the implementation of all necessary procedures and tools for the project controls function
- Responsible for the effective implementation of project controls including progress measurement, change management, planning, cost engineering and estimating on the project
- Responsible for the establishment and operation of the project trending and change management systems
- Works with his counterpart on the client's team to ensure full, appropriate communication and co-ordination in the achievement of the project objectives
Qualifications and experience for this role will include
- Post Secondary education in Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills at all levels including clients, corporate and project management, and staff
- A minimum of 10+ years relevant experience including involvement in at least one major project and exposure to all areas of Project Controls
- Experience with Planning Software in particular Primavera & MS Project.
- Experience with MS Excel
- Experience in project planning, shutdown planning and brown field sites planning.
- Experience in cost and project controls related to capital projects.
- Must be self managed and able to work unsupervised.
