| Job Title: Pipeline Integrity Engineer |

Our Vancouver area client is seeking to hire a: Pipeline Integrity Engineer
Reporting to the Manager, System Integrity Programs, the Pipeline Engineer (Integrity) provides professional engineering services primarily focused on condition assessments of our clients operating assets: transmission pipelines, distribution systems and related facilities across British Columbia. Requirements include assessing fitness-for-purpose of assets, repair and rehabilitation options, and selection of materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Internal Line Inspection (ILI) program - Support Senior Integrity Engineer(s) in all aspects of this program, including:
a. Planning and scheduling of ILI work,
b. Preparing contracts and securing external consultants (ILI vendors),
c. Coordinating field work with transmission operations departments,
d. Analyzing vendor data and asset history to determine requirements for further inspections (digs) to validate asset condition
e. Providing technical support for repair activities
2. Fitness-for-Purpose evaluations, involving:
a. Assessing operating assets to determine conditions and risks associated with a variety of potential or existing hazards,
b. Developing risk mitigation options and making recommendations to internal clients as to the preferred option(s),
c. Providing designs and project engineering for risk mitigation, including field support, professional oversight and technical acceptance, and
d. Acquiring and administering consultant and contractor resources as needed, and evaluating / accepting their work on behalf of the client
3. Conduct other engineering assessments and economic, feasibility and risk studies using practical experience and engineering principles.
4. Apply project management methods such as justifications, cost estimates, schedules, budget control, scope management, and resource and contract administration.
5. Provide Technical Support for gas transmission and distribution operations.
6. Assist with development of internal standards and compliance activities related to regulations, codes, standards and guidelines. This will include liaison with the clients operating staff and with environment, safety, regulatory and other stakeholders, both internal and external.
Industry Experience:
" 3 years minimum as a registered Professional Engineer, with industry experience related to pressure piping systems.
Qualifications:
" Professional Engineer (Mechanical or Metallurgical) registered or fully eligible for registration with the APEGBC
" 3-6 years minimum experience as a Professional Engineer (Knowledge of natural gas or other transmission or distribution piping systems would be an asset.)
" Demonstrated leadership abilities
