Our client is seeking to hire a "Senior Structural Engineer".
Our Vancouver Client is seeking to hire a Senior Structural Engineer for work on several mining projects. This position reports to the Structural Group Lead and the relevant Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of all technical engineering deliverables to achieve the project objectives, within the specified timeframe and budget. The duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
1) Analysis and design of varied concrete and steel heavy industrial structures
2) Overseeing the production of detail design drawings of reinforced concrete foundations and structural steel
3) Co-ordination with the Project Manager and other disciplines in planning and executing project tasks
4) Developing and updating of Project Specifications
5) Development of material takeoffs and cost estimates
6) Ensuring that all completed works conforms to contract requirements
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidates must be a provincial professional registered engineer and eligible for registration with the APEGBC with a degree in civil engineering, from a recognized engineering program, in addition to a minimum of 7 years of experience with heavy industrial facilities. Applicants must be proficient with all MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Computer abilities should include such structural analysis programs as STAAD-Pro, as well as some knowledge in AutoCAD. The attributes most sought after in this position are:
1) Excellent knowledge of civil/structural design of industrial facilities.
2) Excellent knowledge of Computer aided Structural Analysis.
3) Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4) Self-starter with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
5) Analytical and problem solving skills,
6) Ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately.
