Our Vancouver client is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer.
Overview:
Accountable for all aspects of projects in the Industrial (Telecommunications) Division with mechanical engineering needs, including negotiating the scope of work, preparing budgets, site design and completion of mechanical drawings
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for ensuring that designs meet client needs as well as all applicable codes and specifications
- Responsibility for client management and interfacing between clients and operations
- Responsibility for coaching, training and overseeing the work of junior engineers
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng designation and license for British Columbia
- Minimum 5 years experience with mechanical systems, preferably in the consulting engineering industry
- Strong knowledge of the application of standard mechanical engineering methods and techniques
- Experience in diverse mechanical building services projects, including boilers, chillers, rooftop, HVAC and head end systems
- Experience in business development and marketing and preparing proposals
- Strong project management skills
- Plumbing knowledge & Fire Suppression experience an asset
- Ability to provide leadership to project teams and liaise with clients, contractors and authorities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2006/2004 an asset with the ability to effectively communicate mechanical design intent to CAD staff
