Our clients Vancouver office is seeking a registered professional geotechnical engineer to join their team. The role includes working on feasibility studies, preliminary and final engineering design, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, and construction supervision primarily on power generation projects in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.
The successful candidates' responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
·Dam design.
·Design of earthworks and foundations.
·Supervision of site investigations.
·Participating in site work and construction supervision.
·Technical report preparation.
·Producing technical specifications.
·Preparing construction drawings.
·Assisting in providing client liaison.
·Overseeing the work of junior engineers.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a Senior or Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer with a solid background in soil mechanics and foundation design , and experience in hydroelectric power facilities and other industrial structures. The attributes most sought after are:
·Canadian professional registration, eligible for membership with APEGBC.
·Civil Engineering degree with 5+ years of progressive experience in the geotechnical engineering sector, preferably in the soil mechanics area.
·Strong analytical and numerical modeling skills.
·Demonstrated ability in leading technical discussions, making presentations and writing technical reports and papers.
