| Job Title: Senior Surety Underwriter |
| Description |
| Senior Surety Underwriter in the downtown Calgary location of this
International Insurance Company.
As a member of our Surety Underwriting team you will play a leading role in developing new business and underwriting larger construction accounts.
The Role:
" Manage construction accounts of varying sizes through the analysis of financial and related information, complemented by regular visits with clients
" Evaluate the operations of new construction accounts with a goal of establishing a bond facility
" Play a key role in new business development by promoting the Surety department and its products during regular visits with brokers
" Provide technical advice, coaching and training to members of the underwriting team and to brokers
As the ideal candidate you have:
" A minimum of 5 years of surety experience
" A University Degree specializing in business or finance
" The necessary level of underwriting knowledge/analytical skills to successfully evaluate complex risks
" Demonstrated ability to negotiate and sell effectively
" Ability to build close relationships with brokers and clients
" Strong leadership skills
