Our client is a Large Provincial Institution in Regina, Saskatchewan who is seeking a Senior Project Manager on a contract bases for one year with the possibility of being extended to an additional two years.
Job Details
The duration of any resulting contractual agreement(s) will be for one (1) year from contract commencement date with an option to extend for an additional two (2) one-year terms subject to the mutual agreement of all parties.
SCOPE OF WORK REQUIREMENTS:
The successful resource(s) will be required to:
Provide senior project management services on multiple new and/or existing projects.
Ensure all assigned project work is completed within defined scope, schedule and budget, using current methodology, templates and processes.
Meet with individuals in partner ministries and other project stakeholders to understand requirements of the initiatives assigned.
Prepare detailed plans, schedules and estimates for the work to be completed on approved business cases/projects.
Provide status reporting to Project Services and project stakeholders and other communications as set out in each project.
Assist in the development of business cases which accurately reflect the benefits and costs associated with alternative solutions.
Identify possible alternative solutions based on requirements and various interfaces with partner ministries.
Prepare any necessary competition documents associated with the solution.
Utilize, understand and/or suggest improvements to the existing Project Services Office – Project Management Methodology.
Skills Required
Proposed resources should possess the following:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a minimum of five (5) years IT Project Management experience in a government/public sector or large IT organization of which 3 years experience was gained after acquiring the PMP certification, or equivalent education, certifications and experience.
Experience in completing $250,000+ IT projects on-time, on budget, and within the established scope of work.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
a. Demonstrated ability to develop positive interactions with staff and managers at all levels of an organization
b. Ability to communicate complex and highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical people (written and oral)
Demonstrated experience in managing project change and project risks
Experience in leading business and systems requirements gathering and analysis
Experience in stakeholder analysis and management techniques
Computer Science degree, or a business degree with a computer science major, or equivalent training and experience
Experience in preparing various competition documents such as RFP’s
Demonstrated program and/or portfolio management experience
