Job Title: Program Manager
Description
Our client is actively seeking a Program Manager in the Calgary Alberta area. The position is a permanent opportunity and is with an organization that offers extensive career opportunity for growth. Job Details: The Program Management Manager is responsible for the overall strategic program planning including budget, structure, schedule, and planning staffing requirements in line with the company’s business. Manages company, customer, and third-party vendor resources while ensuring good practices in standard methodologies and processes to deliver an integrated solution. Acts as a business partner in development, sales, service design, existing business growth, and delivery of new business. Driven by the business vision, executes leadership, manages risk, prioritizes, and interfaces with all projects utilizing industry knowledge and cross industry experiences, and is responsible for all service delivery within the engagement structure. Key Criteria: - Operational experience managing IT Teams is a must, preference is to have someone who manages teams well versus a technical person - Someone who has managed a field team either in the data centre, remote or deskside. Attitude: - High energy - Posses common sense thinks logically Job Responsibilities: HR: • Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, coaching, assessing annual performance and determining individual merit, incentive, and/or promotional increases • Provides daily operational guidance and direction to staff on work assignments, managing results against SLA’s, scorecards, Stoplight and other metrics in place at client site • Conducts regular reviews with staff members to provide feedback on performance • Conducts annual performance evaluation with staff members – including job performance and career planning discussions • Plans and executes training and education for direct reports • Develop field-training plans to ensure that certifications comply with Client’s needs Financial Management: • Responsible for the regular and timely invoicing of services provided to client • Responsible for P&L – identifies ways to sustain / improve margin • Sets budgets and completes all management duties required to meet budget • Facilitates change management and other initiatives based on potential return to company and other project objectives • Establish internal and external benchmarks, levels of service in industry (SLA’s) and ensuring consistency in the business objectives/goals. Operational Management • Manages all aspects of service delivery & operations personnel associated with the engagement for results, utilization, service excellence, and professionalism. • Utilizes and implements standard tracking and reporting methods and procedures to report status of assigned programs forecasts, labor, and financial resources • Serves as an expert resource for business process redesign and the development of performance measurement criteria • Good working knowledge of project information and project interdependencies in order make informed decisions • Defines programs to ensure proposed solutions will best satisfy the customer needs and requirements. Capitalizes on business development opportunities • Assess risk and determine the most feasible alternative - Someone who understands stats and data (ITIL or Six Sigma) - Reporting requirements - Manages the number Client Satisfaction: • Responsible for overall client satisfaction with service delivery • Conducts regular meetings with client, builds and executes action plans to resolve any service issues Communication: • Leads and facilitates quarterly business reviews and strategic planning meetings as required. Makes group presentations of the client program to a variety of audiences • Provides input on technical trends as related to products, tools, services or systems that support the company’s need • Proactive participation in home office and customer site to increase visibility • Regular communication with client as well as mgmt team • Participate in sales initiative and develop Client/vendor relationship along with sales force and seek net new business. • Participate in the development of Client proposals and statements of work as it pertains to the service delivery requirements and aspects of the solution Key Requirements: • 8 or more years experience in Program Management with an understanding of account operations, P&L management, budget management, and program management methodologies. • Experience in translating strategy into business initiatives and service offerings. Utilizes strategic knowledge and experience to provide practical implementation techniques to ensure achievement of results on a large scale, long term program of change in a complex, diverse environment. • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or experience equivalent is required. Masters degree in business; Project Management Institute (PMI) education and certification would be asset.
