Job Details:
The On Site Technician - Hardware Services, reports to the Manager – Client Services with the responsibility of fulfilling work order requests. The position is responsible for problem determination, resolution, and follow-up where this client is concerned. In addition, the On Site Technician is expected to be able to act (in a technical and customer service-related capacity) in both Deskside - Break/Fix and IMAC (Install/Move/Add/Change) environments for our client. The customer will arrange the appropriate cross-training in these capacities. The On Site Technician will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned by the Manager – Client Services. While technical skills are important to the On Site Technician role, a customer service focus is an essential part of this position.
Skills Required:
Have 3 – 5 years of IMAC experience doing hardware roll-outs, refreshes, and other deployment related activities
Have 3 – 5 years of desk side support experience
Have 3 – 5 years of break-fix experience
Have strong internetworking and troubleshooting skills
Have A+, Network +, an MCP or MCSE certifications
May also have IBM Desktop/ Laptop Hardware Certifications / experience HP laserJet Printers Hardware Certifications / experience Microsoft OS/Software support knowledge / Certifications)
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to manage multiple tasks
Can act in a Team Lead capacity
Exceptional customer service skills
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision
Must be available to work flexible work schedules
Must have a minimum of a Diploma from a recognized IT program
Pre Requisites:
• Network + certification; A+ certification;
• Major asset to have MCSA certification; IBM and Lenovo hardware-related certification; Hewlett Packard (HP) printer/scanner certification; Lexmark printer/scanner certification.
• Comfortable disassembling and reassembling desktops, laptops, and printers, scanners and other Information Technology-related equipment to be repaired.
• Comfortable using screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand-held tools used in the repair of IT-related equipment.
• Customer service focus - Incumbents must be technically oriented while maintaining the ability to positively interact with clients not as technically proficient as themselves.
• Valid driver's license, motor vehicle and insurance
