Our client currently has an opening for a Senior Quality Assurance to work within their ITPMO team. The position is a permanent position offered in the Toronto area.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, deployment, implementation and support of Companys ITPMO Quality Management System
Develop and establish performance standards and metrics for evaluating IT software developments.
Works with all the IT business units to define the critical Quality and Operational Excellence business processes, tools and system applications required for IT to meet its Quality objectives.
Creates and manages test plans and cases to ensure compliance to specs
Recommends corrective actions as required.
Reviews results from various sources and ensures that issues are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders and action plans are developed and executed on a timely basis
responsible to widely deploy best practices.
Provides subject matter expertise to project management in such areas as Quality and Six Sigma principles, etc. Monitors IT project performance to ensure ongoing conformance to the ITPMO Quality Management System.
Provides training to IT personnel as required to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills to independently support and maintain ITs quality initiatives.
Provide Program Management leadership and support for special projects and / or specific initiatives as required.
Participate in, or lead, special studies as required
Develops, documents, deploys, and supports key Quality processes such as Corrective Action, Customer Feedback, Root Cause Corrective Action, Complaint Management, etc.
Performs benchmarking between Companys IT and outside companies as required
Skills Required
5+ years with 3+ years experience in Software QA
Ability to understand and implement software quality and QA methodologies.
Engineering Degree or computer related degree.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of an IT environment and business processes
Six Sigma certification an asset.
PMP certification an asset
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and processes, including ISO 9001/9002, TL9001, and ESD Controls.
Ability to explain and participate in projects involving Six Sigma and / or Lean Manufacturing principles.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of electronics manufacturing environment, materials, manufacturing and business processes.
In- depth knowledge of IT applications and data collection and reporting capabilities (especially Shop Floor Control, Shop Floor Reporting, and Data Warehouse applications).
Excellent negotiation, problem solving, coordination and team building skills.
Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate employees from multiple sites and multiple regions to implement quality initiatives within tight time deadlines.
Project management skills to run as a project and ability to follow PMBOK principles.
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and processes, CMMI; ITEL, Six Sigma.
Ability to explain and participate in projects requiring Quality Assurance sign off..
Excellent negotiation, problem solving, coordination and team building skills
Knowledge of client/server technology, Windows operating systems, SQL, web technologies and .NET.
Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, Powerpoint.
