Our client's Vancouver office is seeking senior project managers to join their team and participate in the planning, engineering, construction management and commissioning of new or upgraded renewable energy generation projects, primarily in Western Canada or the Northwest United States. The successful candidate will undertake personal studies of limited scope, and/or will lead a team of specialized professionals to address larger projects. Work may cover conceptual planning, feasibility studies, permitting, design engineering and specifications, tendering and contract management, construction inspection and commissioning. Experience in leadership of a professional design team, representation of the Company to clients, budget planning and control, scheduling of design and permitting activities, and preparation of reports and public documents will be critical to this position.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a senior engineer with a minimum 15 years of hydroelectric and/or wind power generation systems design and construction experience. The individual's engineering background may be civil, electrical or mechanical, but the candidate will have specific technical work experience in some of the following areas: hydrology; hydro project layout and design; civil/structural engineering; cost estimating; hydraulic design; turbines, governors and related mechanical equipment; generators, protection, controls and instrumentation; substation layout and design; transmission line location and design; environmental assessment and permitting; wind farm planning and design. The attributes most sought after are:
·Bachelor's degree in engineering (Advanced degree preferred),
·Canadian professional registration, eligible for membership in APEGBC,
·Project Management training,
·Demonstrated written and oral presentation skills,
·Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills,
·Demonstrated experience in representing the Company to potential clients and preparation of business development proposals.
